1984 to 2024

 

I have assembled and consolidated over 950 documents I created, wrote, read, dissected & rehashed, uploaded, or photocopied in my 40+ years in the strength, conditioning, and fitness industry. I estimate this collection amounts to only 57% of everything I possess because I have even more information in various journals, books, and content uploaded from the Internet that is beyond the scope of this humongous project. All but a few are secured in PDF format that you can upload for a nominal fee.

 

To make this document collection, I sifted through antiquated 5.25” and 3.25” floppy disks (all 5.25” and some 3.25” were unreadable), CD-ROMS, flash drives, file folders, 3-ring binders, and paper documents created on typewriters, pre-desktop computers.

 

Many topics are covered, including:

  • Strength and conditioning programming and goals.
  • Strength training workout recording forms for all sports (thousands).
  • Training formats and schedules.
  • Speed and agility training, including relevant diagrams.
  • Interval and conditioning workout prescriptions and details.
  • Flexibility and warm-up routines.
  • Fitness testing.
  • In- and out-of-season programs.
  • Nutrition and recovery articles and tips.
  • My published books, book chapters, and periodical articles.
  • Numerous diagrams addressing muscle function, fiber type, motor unit recruitment, and other relevant information.
  • My thoughts and opinions on assorted topics.
  • A few video clips and photographs.
  • PowerPoint presentations.
  • A few Microsoft Excel spreadsheets where you are able to enter data (e.g., fitness formulas, body fat estimations, and nutrition logs).

 

It took several weeks to complete this project because of the numerous documents I had “in storage” in various forms (a lot of scanning and uploading took place!). The intent was to reflect on, and summarize, my career regarding the specific components of sound training programs, workout overload protocols, organization and planning, attention to detail, and the knowledge I acquired throughout the years. My goal was always to help athletes and clients through the implementation of safe and productive modes and prescriptions, and to keep up with the latest applicable research studies to do so. I can now pass this on to you to use however you want:
